Visitors Information on the Palace of Justice in Sofia
General Information
The Palace of
Justice in Sofia is a six-floor building of 48 000 sq.m. total surface area and
is accessible for visitors. Fifteen institutions and organisations with their
respective public service points, as well as twenty-four court-rooms, a library
and a bank branch are located in the Palace of Justice.
The Palace of
Justice occupies a detached block confined among four streets, commonly used as
reference points:
- to
the East – Vitosha boulevard (official postal address is 2 Vitosha Blvd.);
-
to the South – Alabin Street;
- to the West – Lavele Street (the last stop of
tramline No 5);
- to the North – Pozitano Street
Entrance Points
The building
is accessible to the public through the central entrance facing Vitosha
Boulevard and entrance for citizens facing Pozitano Street and Lavele
Street. The Palace of Justice is open from 8:30 to 18:00. Employees and lawyers
can also use the service entrance facing Alabin Street and Vitosha
Boulevard.
 
Personal identification by means of identity or office card is
required before entry into the building. All visitor and employees are subject
to close check performed by judicial police officers. Citizens either of
improper appearance, in a state of intoxication, or carrying large luggage, are
not allowed to enter the building.
 
Loading platform and immediate access to lift is provided for disabled
people at the entrance point from Pozitano Street.
Switch-board
The Palace of
Justice has been equipped with hi-tech digital switch board system PBX. It
provides internal communication within the building and access to public
telephone network.
Visitors can
use this telephone network for connection with the different services or with
the staff by using the telephones installed at each entrance point.
